Welcome to the Colorado Genealogical Society Visitors are always welcome at meetings, classes, and activities of the Colorado Genealogical Society. Most of our members are researching family lines outside the state of Colorado, but we share a common interest in family history and research skills. We treasure those wonderful discoveries about elusive ancestors and cheer each other on in the search for more information. We hope you’ll join us. The CGS Organization CGS was founded in 1924 and is the oldest genealogical society in Colorado. The society has more than 250 members and welcomes visitors and new members alike who want to share our interest in family history and genealogical research. CGS meets for a program meeting on the third Friday evening of each month except December, July and August. Each meeting includes a GEM (Genealogy Education Module) mini presentation as well as a featured speaker. Come and enjoy these informative programs as well as the friendly hospitality offered by our society. The society also offers a full complement of education classes including Beginning Genealogy on the second Saturday of each month except July and August and Special Interest Genealogy Classes on the third Saturday of each month except July, August and December. Both of the education classes are held at the downtown Denver Public Library. All classes are free and open to the public. Our Objectives The Society's objectives are detailed on our Membership Information page, where a membership application form can also be found. A list of the Society's officers can be found on our Contact Us page. |
